Teaching Goals:

*To help the children feel Christ’s love and know that they are special to Him and to us.

*To provide a variety of activities and experiences to stimulate the children spiritually, physically, mentally and socially.

*To help the children learn to sit quietly and attentively for a short period of time; to listen when instructions are being given and to carry out commands.

*To learn to cooperate in a group situation by sharing and taking turns.

*To develop language skills by verbalizing thoughts and feelings and by increasing expressive vocabulary.

*To recognize and name basic colors, shapes, some letters and numbers, and his or her own name.

*To master simple tasks: putting on a coat or sweater; buttoning large buttons and zipping; pouring.

*To complete simple multi-part puzzles.

*To take responsibility to care for own belongings.

*To use appropriate social responses, i.e.: please and thank you, raises hand.

*To control/express emotions in acceptable ways.

*To increase self-help skills: washing hands, blowing nose, putting shoes on, putting belongings away, cleaning up.
