Teaching Goals:

*To help the children feel Christ’s love and know that they are special to Him and to us.

*To provide a variety of activities and experiences to stimulate the children spiritually, physically, mentally and socially.

*To help the children learn to sit quietly and attentively for a short period of time; to listen when instructions are being given and to carry out commands.

*To learn to cooperate in a group situation by sharing and taking turns.

*To develop language skills by verbalizing thoughts and feelings and by increasing expressive vocabulary.

*To recognize name, letters and beginning sounds, colors and shapes.

*To master simple tasks: putting on a coat or sweater; buttoning large buttons and zipping; cutting with scissors; holding a pencil correctly.

*To be able to copy a circle, square, triangle, diamond, cross and x.

*To be able to draw a simple man.

*To print first name and last initial using upper and lower case letters, eg: Jean Y.

*To write numbers 1 through 10.

*To know address and telephone number.

*To recognize likes and preferences; differences; opposites.
